Jonathan
Clay graduated from the department of Construction Management at Southern
Polytechnic State University (SPSU) in 1992. Since that time, Jonathan has
remained actively involved with the department as an alumni and community
supporter. Over the years, Jonathan has participated in judging panels for over
20 groups of graduating seniors Capstone projects as well as been on the
Construction Department’s Advisory Board since 1999. In addition to leading the
department’s industry committee during the 2003 curriculum re-accreditation by
the Associated Schools of Construction, Jonathan served as chairman of the
Advisory Board in 2003 and 2004. Jonathan has also been an active and regular
guest lecturer to both undergraduate and graduate level classes providing repeat
lectures on “How to Start a Construction Business”, as well as “Ethics in
Construction” and “Real Value Engineering – The Benefits of Evaluating Building
Life Cycle Costs.” Being a recipient of multiple scholarships while attending
Southern Polytechnic State University, including The Golden Hammer Scholarship,
The National Association of Women in Construction Scholarship and two Rotary
Club Scholarships, Jonathan is committed to providing lifelong support to SPSU’s
Construction Department and the students it serves.
