At
the request of one of our clients, in October 2006, Larry Leroux developed a one
day field engineering layout course to expose the young members of a local
Webelos Scout troop to the joys of the construction work in the field. Although
the time in the “field” for the students was only approximately four hours,
Larry and The Blue River Group team spent countless hours preparing course
training materials and souvenirs for the Scouts so that the experience would be
the most beneficial as well as fun-filled possible.
Upon completion of the course, our client, John Crane of The Hawkins Companies
expressed his thanks to Larry:
“Larry, I want to express my gratitude for taking
the time to work with the Scouts. Hands down, our field trip to your jobsite and
the layout training you provided resulted in the best meeting we have ever had.
I thought being a Scout was fun, but I had no idea how much Scouting teaches the
children. The kids learn self reliance, citizenship and respect for the flag and
country. That is why we are grateful for your time (and hardhats) you gave us.
Thank you once again.”
